  Janet Walker, 50, died Sunday, May 6, 2012 at her residence near the Butler area of Freestone County. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Mrs. Walker was born Aug. 19, 1961 to parents Odies Allen and Jerrie McDaniel Walker in Alabama. She had been a Freestone County resident since 1989 moving from the Houston area. She was preceded in death by a son, Matthew; and a brother, Johnny Walker. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Frank Owen; her mother and stepfather, Jerrie Newman and Troy Newman of Palestine; two sons, Roy and Matt Owen of Butler; two stepchildren, Frank Owen Jr. of Butler and Karen Harris of Neches; a brother, Jeff Walker and wife Julie of Palestine; two stepgrandchildren, Darryl Harris III and Cash Harris.

  Odies Allen Walker, 65, of Slocum, died Friday at his home. His body will be cremated. He was born Dec. 20, 1937, in Wickett to Odies O. Walker and Amanda L. Jones Walker. Mr. Walker had lived in Anderson County for the past 19 years and attended Felder's Chapel and World Alive Church in Grapeland. He was an insulator in Houston for many years. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Walker of Slocum; sons, John Edward Walker, Jeff David Walker, George Kessinger; daughters, Cheryl Walker, Janet Gayle Walker and Misty Kessinger; two sisters; and 11 grandchildren. The family thanks all showing compassion during Mr. Walker's illness.

  Graveside services for Odies O. Walker, 57, of 4002 Surside, were to be held at 11 a.m. today in the Nueces County Cemetery with the Rev. R. A. Butler officiating. Clifford Jackson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Walker died at 11:15 a.m. Monday in a local hospital after a long illness. A native of Paris, Texas, he had lived in Nueces County 19 years. He was a carpenter. Survivors include his wife, Peggy; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Bench of Pasadena, Texas, and Mrs. Vivian Ann Colsby of Houston; one son, Odies A. Walker of Houston; two brothers, F. A. Walker of Antlers, Okla., and Herbert Hendricks of Universal City; and five grandchildren.
