Father Lewis GRIFFITH? I believe that the family found in 1850 Oregon Co MO census, with a Mary J. 7 mos old, is the family of this Mary Jane GRIFFITH, who was the second wife of John Jasper CAMPBELL. Supporting this theory is the fact that Mary Jane GRIFFETH named her eldest son Lewis. 1850 Oregon Co MO census 208 GRIFFITH Lewis 27 M NC Susan 24 F TN Josephus 6 M MO John L. 2 M MO Mary J. 7/12 F MO This family is found in the 1870 Oregon Co census, with Mary age 18. They are found in the 1860 Palo Pinto Co TX census. If this is indeed her family, then her mother was Sarah McWHORTER.
