    Other Events:

    • RESEARCH: He emigrated Move from Tennessee to Osage County, Missouri about _____-_____-1843 from Osage County, Missouri. 331 Moved from Tennessee (Wilson or Smith Co?) to Missouri around 1843, based on birthplaces of children. They moved with Lydia\'s parents, John Anthony Ward and Lydia Vincent. Their son, George Thomas Clark always gave his birthplace as Tennessee, and he was born around 1842. His next sibling, Rebecca, was born around 1844, and always stated her birthplace as Missouri. The family was, therefore, likely to have arrived in Missouri about 1843. They may have followed the Drury Holland family from Smith County, TN. Drury Holland is found in the 1840 Smith Co TN census, where John Lawson Clark was found in the 1820 census; Isaac Clark (Carolina Clark\'s father) is found in neighboring White Co TN in 1840. After the move to Osage County, there were several marriages between the children of the two families. It is likely that there was a previous relationship, or at least friendship, between the families prior to the move, particularly since they moved at such an early date, before the later waves of emigrants from Tennessee.

    Buried:
I received a letter while I was on the trip from a fellow researcher who is a descendant of John Lawson Clark's son, George Thomas Clark George had a son named Lewis and this is his descendant. One bit of information which I find interesting is she said that one researcher in Osage Co. said that John Lawson and his wife are most probably buried in unmarked graves in either the cemetery at Bailey Creek or New Providence. She stated that John helped found both churches.
