Shelby died at her home on Spruce St. Saturday morning at 1 o'clock. Mrs. Shelby was one of the oldest settlers of Santa Cruz, coming here in 1846. In 1851 she was married to Granville C. Shelby who died about 30 years ago. The seven children all preceded their mother in death, who was 74 years of age. She has four grandchildren residing at Lompoc, and was a sister of the late Mansel and Winston Bennett, and has one sister who still lives, Mrs. D. L. Adams of Los Angeles."
