When a boy he moved to Indiana, from there to Ohio, and came to Missouri in 1859 and resided the rest of his life in Howell county, except for about two years. He was married to Miss Livona Chowning in 1862. To this union were born eleven children?four boys and seven girls?of whom six are now living?R.E. Roush of near Mountain View, Mo,.; Mrs. W. M. My mother, Lu Walker, and her distant cousin Ruth Kenaga remember that Adam Roush could not read or write and wore wooden shoes to work in his garden.
