Generation: 1

  1. 1.  John F. Bolerjack was born on 16 Feb 1872 in Illinois, USA (son of Henry J. Bolerjack and Mary Caroline Brill); died on 14 Mar 1895 in Missouri, USA; was buried after 15 Mar 1895 in Mountain View, Howell County, Missouri, USA.

    Notes:

    Birth:
Stone fragments retrieved from Center Hill Cemetery were pieced together, and collated with information from the Bolerjack book (see sources) to reveal that the stone is as follows: John F. BOLERJACK [fragment #5] son of H.J. & M.C. [fragment #4] BOLERJACK born Feb 16 1872 [fragment #6] died March 14, 1895 [fragment #3]

    Died:
    See birth memo.

    Buried:
Only a portion of the gravestone of John F. BOLERJACK remains erect at Center Hill Cemetery. My father brought home the crumbled portions of two stones, which we were able to piece together to a great extent. These fragments, collated with information from the Bolerjack books result in the following reading of the stone, which I believe to be correct: John F. Bolerjack son of H. J. & M.C. BOLERJACK born Feb 16 1872 died March 14, 1895 "Over in the summerland of love."

John married Lucy Wesley Deboard on 17 Sep 1893 in Mountain View, Howell County, Missouri, USA. Lucy (daughter of Iva Gerome Deboard and Martha Louisa Davis) was born on 24 Aug 1876 in Illinois, USA; died on 5 Jul 1935 in Howell County, Missouri, USA; was buried on 7 Jul 1935 in Center Hill Cemetery, Mountain View, Howell County, Missouri, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Notes:

    Married:
John F. Bolerjack to Lucy W. Deboard 13 Sept 1893 by Joel F. DeBoard, preacher of the gospel.

    Children:
    1. Henry Jefferson Bolerjack was born on 30 Jul 1895 in Mountain View, Howell County, Missouri, USA; died on 21 Apr 1917 in Greenville, Hunt County, Texas, USA.

Generation: 2

  1. 2.  Henry J. Bolerjack was born about 1836 in Illinois, USA (son of Joel H. Bolerjack and Rebecca Forrester); died after 1910.

    Notes:

Moved to MO from IL between 1874 (b of youngest child in IL) and 1880 (present in Howell Co MO census).

From the Mtn View X-RAY, reprinted in the West Plains Journal Feb 22, 1906: "Uncle Henry Bolerjack met with a little accident early this week which proved quite painful. A contusion, or bruise, was produced on his foot by contact with a knot." From Howell Co Post Office Book One, pg 140: "Three brothers - Thomas C., Henry, and Marion Bolerjack - all soldiers in the Federal Army, came from Illinois in 1873 and homesteaded in the vicinity [of Center Hill]."

This supports the view that these three are all sons of Joel H. Bolerjack, found in the 1850 White Co IL census.

Crumbled stones that Daddy and I pieced together, taken from Center Hill Cemetery, Howell Co MO.

" - J. Bolerjack born Nov 24 1835 died May 25 1---- Gone to be with the angels."

    Fragment:

"-- ry C. wife of [Probably a portion of the stone of Henry's wife, Mary C. BRILL BOLERJACK]

Fragment: "-ied March 14 1895" [? around the time that their son John F. would have died?]

    Fragment: "H.J. & "

    Fragment: "ohn" [Probably John]

Fragment: "BOLER[just the lower portion of letters showing, but pretty clearly indicates which letters] born Feb 16 18--"

Henry married Mary Caroline Brill on 18 May 1859 in White County, Illinois, USA. Mary was born on 24 Nov 1835 in Illinois, USA; died on 25 May 1903 in Missouri, USA; was buried after 25 May 1903 in Mountain View, Howell County, Missouri, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

  2. 3.  Mary Caroline Brill was born on 24 Nov 1835 in Illinois, USA; died on 25 May 1903 in Missouri, USA; was buried after 25 May 1903 in Mountain View, Howell County, Missouri, USA.

    Notes:

    Birth:
Fragments of the cemetery stones from Center Hill Cemetery, collated with info from the Bolerjack books reveals the following inscription: Mary C. BOLERJACK wife of [both part of #2] Henry C. BOLERJACK born Nov 24, 1835 died May 25, 1903 Gone to be with the Angels. [last several lines from fragment #3]

    Died:
    See memo in birth entry.

    Buried:
Only a portion of Mary's stone still stands at Centery Hill. My father brought home the fragments of two stones, laying crumbled and neglected near the two graves. We pieced them together physically and were able to read a great deal of both of them. This, collated with the information from the Bolerjack books resulted in the following reading, which I believe to be completely accurate: Mary C. BOLERJACK wife of Henry C. BOLERJACK born Nov 24, 1835 died May 25, 1903 "Gone to be with the Angels."

    Children:
    1. Thomas Sherman Bolerjack was born about 1866 in Illinois, USA; died in May 1916 in Oklahoma, USA.

    4. William S. Bolerjack was born about 1874 in Illinois, USA; and died.

Generation: 3

  1. 4.  Joel H. Bolerjack was born about 1800 in North Carolina, USA (son of John Bolerjack and Mary Forrester); died in Jul 1849 in White County, Illinois, USA.

Joel married Rebecca Forrester on 28 Sep 1820 in White County, Illinois, USA. Rebecca was born about 1806 in North Carolina, USA; died after Mar 1890. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

  2. 5.  Rebecca Forrester was born about 1806 in North Carolina, USA; died after Mar 1890.

    Notes:

(Research):Burrell P. Shaw indicates that her parents were Henry Gomer Forrest (b ca 1773 Culpepper Co VA) and Mary "Polly" unknown. However, John Dodgens Forrester's wife, Mary Jollett, was also known as "Polly", which would make it possible that they were Rebecca's parents. I think Burrell Shaw indicated that there are two boys older than the ones listed - William and Joel, no. one and two on list.
