    Other Events:

    • RESEARCH: He emigrated Move from Tennessee to Osage County, Missouri about _____-_____-1843 from Osage County, Missouri. 331 Moved from Tennessee (Wilson or Smith Co?) to Missouri around 1843, based on birthplaces of children. They moved with Lydia\'s parents, John Anthony Ward and Lydia Vincent. Their son, George Thomas Clark always gave his birthplace as Tennessee, and he was born around 1842. His next sibling, Rebecca, was born around 1844, and always stated her birthplace as Missouri. The family was, therefore, likely to have arrived in Missouri about 1843. They may have followed the Drury Holland family from Smith County, TN. Drury Holland is found in the 1840 Smith Co TN census, where John Lawson Clark was found in the 1820 census; Isaac Clark (Carolina Clark\'s father) is found in neighboring White Co TN in 1840. After the move to Osage County, there were several marriages between the children of the two families. It is likely that there was a previous relationship, or at least friendship, between the families prior to the move, particularly since they moved at such an early date, before the later waves of emigrants from Tennessee.

She stated that John helped found both churches.

    • Residence: Abt 1846, Missouri, USA; Son William\'s birthplace is consistently given as Missouri; family probably briefly moved to Missouri around this time. Children just older and just younger were born in Tennessee. Four-year age gap between older brother Frank (b in TN) may indicate another child was lost in this interval, possibly also born in Missouri).
    • Land Entry: 8 Jul 1847, White County, Tennessee, USA; 300 acres on the waters of Post Oak Creek and Cherry Creek. Google Maps places their intersection at a place labelled \"Dry Valley,\" and quite near Robison Cove to the NW and Robinson Chapel Presbyterian Church to the South and slightly west.

    Notes:

I believe that Issareal CLARK in the 1860 census and Isaac CLARK in the 1880 census are one and the same. Their ages are close. They are both blacksmiths, they have children named the same, in the same order, although the ages are not precisely the same.

The child called "Emiline" in the 1860 Howell co MO census should undoubtedly be "Caroline." There are many such similar mistakes in the census transcription.

Interviews with Janet Cochran (417-284-3031) and her elderly mother, Mrs. Russell McCann (417-284-3534) who both live at Amy, Howell Co, MO. They descend from the BLACK line (and Nancy CLARK, dau of Isaac CLARK). They state that the Isaac CLARK family settled in Howell Co MO, but went back to Osage Co MO during the Civil War. Not very many families remained in the unstable and dangerous Howell Co at the time - perhaps fewer than 200. After the war, obviously they came back.

Father, Robert Clark (?), died in Putnam Co TN (Info from Jim CLARK)

Parents may have been Isaac O. CLARK and Nancy BOUNDS? Website http://members.aol.com/BCrowt0509/sc/d0006/g0000056.htm#I1768 lists the 1850 Isaac CLARK data, and indicates that his father was Isaac O. CLARK. Indicates that the elder Isaac CLARK was born ca 1779 VA, and that he married Nancy BOUNDS on 6 Aug 1794 in Knoxville TN.It further states that he died 1 Jan 1838 in Jackson Co TN. Children: Elizabeth CLARK William CLARK Jesse B. CLARK Annie CLARK Polly CLARK Ruth CLARK Frances CLARK Susan Slates CLARK Sarah CLARK Tempie CLARK John CLARK Isaac O. CLARK , Jr. Another file indicating that his parents were Isaac O. CLARK and Nancy BOUNDS. http://members.tripod.com/~mewcmw/cmwline/g0000283.html#I6981 Indicates that his grandfather was David CLARK - goes back to Virginia, and marries into a Leonard family - we are getting closer to linking the two CLARK families. WorldConnect file indicates that his parents were indeed Isaac CLARKE and Nancy Ann BOUNDS, but that his grandfather was Andrew CLARKE - not David. All of Putnam and Jackson Co's TN. Previously NC & VA. BOUNDS family from MD.

Possible parent: Joseph CLARK, found in 1850 census, fam #582 White Co TN ,age 65, b NC. Possibly this Joseph CLARK was a brother to Darius CLARK, and both were sons of Rev War soldier Burgess CLARK? [see e-mail from Diane Anderson]

Robert CLARK, from Augusta Co VA? Died in 1822, Jackson Co TN. (Info from Jim Clark - found on the internet, and completely unconfirmed.)

(Research):I believe that the CLARK families were related to the HUNTER family in the Benton township of Howell County, MO. Isaac Clark's sister, Susan S. Clark, married Joseph HUNTER; her sister Sarah married Braxton HUNTER.
John F. HUNTER appears in HOwell County, the father of Sarah HUNTER, who married George CLARK, son of John C. CLARK - our other CLARK line.

    Died:
present in Howell County, MO census 1880

    Notes:

Name came from Meg Gantges mgentges@mindspring.com

    Name:
Identified elsewhere as "Sarah "Sallie" Anderson."

    However:

Daughter Martha's Kansas death certificate names her parents as "Isaak Clark" and "Sarrah Robinson," no birthplaces stated. Informant Zilla King or Kling (a daughter of Martha?)

Daughter Sally's 1934 Osage Co MO death cert names her parents as "Isaac Clark," no name for mother.

Daughter Zilla's 1941 Osage Co MO death cert names her parents as "Isac Clark" born Tennessee; and "Sallie Robertson" born Tennessee.

Daughter Nancy's 1912 Howell Co MO death cert names her parents as "Isaac Clark" and "Sallie Robison," no birth places given.

    Died:
Her husband remarried in 1875. It is reasonable to assume that Sallie died prior to this date.

    Notes:

Presumption that they must have married prior to the birth of eldest child - presumption that she is that child's mother.
