    Other Events:

    • Note: Youngest son born to Bettie and her Bolerjack husband was Laban Malachi Bolerjack, whose name was later legally changed to Poston. Bettie\'s second husband was a Poston and this was found on Ancestry.uk, posted by John Poston: \"One of the mysteries in our family has always been: Why was Laban Malichi\'s last name Poston, when all of his siblings were named Bolerjack? As it turns out, Elvina Kern (Haney) had the story from talking to the older Bolderjack children. When Laban proposed to Imogene, she, for whatever reason, didn\'t want to marry the name Bolerjack. She was willing to marry the name Poston, Labans step-father. This may be because Laban\'s mother, Cora Elizabeth, had divorced Joel Bolerjack for \'Biblical reasons.\' Laban didn\'t talk about either his father or step-father, but he was willing to share stories of his life and adventures growing up. Imogene told her son, Robert Charles that Laban didn\'t like either his father or step-father and to not discuss them with him. She also say the Cora, Laban\'s mother, was a very strong woman. She had the courage to get a divorce, which was very rare in that time. The passing of Edward G. Poston\'s first wife, Rosella (Rose Ella) Crow in Feb 1916, paved the way for Cora & Edward to marry. The search for documentation of Rosella\'s death, and Edward & Cora\'s marriage continues. \"

  1. 8.  John E. Bolerjack was born about 1829 in Illinois, USA (son of Joel H. Bolerjack and Rebecca Forrester); died about 1871.

    Notes:

    Died:
John and Lucy Bolerjack cannot be located in the 1880 census. Their son, Calvin, is found in the home of Whitfield Hill, at the age of 14 (presumably a relative of his mother, Lucy J. Hill). Som William E. (15) and daughter Sarah E. (24) are found in the home of William A. HILL, where they are listed as his niece and nephew. Son Joel Bolerjack (21) is found in the home of his uncle Henry Bolerjack, in Howell County, Missouri. Daughter Winnie and son Samuel cannot be located.
The fact that the children are spread about among relatives leads me to conclude that John and Lucy did at some point prior to 1880.

John married Lucy J. Hill on 2 Apr 1853 in White County, Illinois, USA. Lucy (daughter of Samuel Hill and Winnie Deboard) was born about 1831 in Illinois, USA; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
