251 (Research):A George DeBoard is found buried at St. Clair Bottom Cemetery, in Smyth County, Virginia. He was born 10 May 1728, and died 22 April 1820.
- Catherine McConnell, «i»High on a Windy Hill «/i»(Bristol, TN: King Print Co., 1868), reprinted by The Overmountain Press, 1995; snippet, Google Book Search, query: DeBoard.

The book above is classified as Washington County, Virginia, cemetery and other genealogical data.

252 (Research):A homestead file for a James Cunningham of St. Joseph Indiana exists. The land office was Fort Wayne, and the legal description "North half of the Northeast quarter of Section 15, Township 35, Range 7." Dated 24 April 1837. Containing 80 acres. Patented 20 Aug 1828. File no. 19051.

It is not clear whether or not this is our James Cunningham.

256 (Research):Ancestry.com offered a bit of info on her, indicating that she was born in Dec 1886 (I have 1889 from census data), and that her parents were Samuel Patterson STORY and Minnie Ellen HILL, and that she married someone named Charley LAPE. Story, Charity Frances "Frankie" (I2603)

257 (Research):Burrell P. Shaw indicates that her parents were Henry Gomer Forrest (b ca 1773 Culpepper Co VA) and Mary "Polly" unknown. However, John Dodgens Forrester's wife, Mary Jollett, was also known as "Polly", which would make it possible that they were Rebecca's parents. I think Burrell Shaw indicated that there are two boys older than the ones listed - William and Joel, no. one and two on list. Forrester, Rebecca (I3051)

259 (Research):Death date 1 Mar 1855 - don't know where I got it, but it doesn't seem likely, since he can't be found in the 1840 census or the 1850 census.

William Debard on Sumner Co Tn tax records 1817; in 1819 Sumner co TN find Solomon Debord. William Deboar on 1790 census Stokes Co NC, could be the father of William Deboard b 1769. Hurshel Debord believes that William DeBoor or Doboard or Deboard (pg 551) was the father of William, Benjamin, John, George, and Solomon. All went to White Co except George.

smith@wworld.com Shirley Smith: "Anyway, I don't remember what I told you originally, but my husband is the great, great, great grandson of William and Lidda DeBoard. Twice! Their daughter, Mary married Richard Smith approximately 1810. (My husband's great great grandparents). They were married in TN before the families moved to IL.€ The rest of the children were married in White Co., IL with the exception of Solomon.€ (I do not know where he was married.)€ William and Lidda€ had two daughters named Mary.€ The first one as I said married Richard Smith.€ The second one, Mary Salinda married Jonathan Yates.€ " Hurshel DeBoard (HLDebord@aol.com): "There were four Debords that moved to White Co IL between 1818 and 1825. These were 1) William, born about 1769 (wife Lydia), 2) John Debord b 1770/80 in NC, married Jean Kilbe on 19 April 1804 in Wilkes Co, NC with Wm DeBoard as bondsman; and 4) Solomon DeBoard born about 1790, married Margaret Franklin on 9 March 1818 in Sumner, TN. I believe they were all brothers, but I have no proof of this, and have no idea who their parents could have been. Some researchers say Solomon was a son of Wm born 1769, but the census record would not support that. The census records would indicate that William and Lydia had one son (Robert, that married Elizabeth Bolerjack) and at least 6 daughters. The trouble is there were at least 12 DeBoard girls that married in White co IL before 1840, and all 12 girls have been assigned to Wm and Lydia by some researchers. Some of these DeBord girls were obviously daughters of John and Bejamin Debord, but I don't know which is which.

285 (Research):I believe that the CLARK families were related to the HUNTER family in the Benton township of Howell County, MO. Isaac Clark's sister, Susan S. Clark, married Joseph HUNTER; her sister Sarah married Braxton HUNTER.

287 (Research):It is interesting to note that a Samuel Hartley was appointed to the jury to serve the Dickson County court of pleas and quarter sessions in June 1804. This would have been around the time that James and Elizabeth Hartley/Heartley moved from GA to Dickson County.
I cannot find any census data for Samuel Hartley that would appear to be a possible match to this individual, except for 1830 Washington Co IN, where there is a Samuel Hartley (male 26 - 45) next door to James Hartley (male over 45) and William Hartley (male 26 - 45). A search of WorldConnect reveals a Samuel HArtley, born 1789 in Burke Co NC, the son of James Hartley, born abt 1763, Snow Hill MD.
This could be an avenue for further research on the possible Hartley connection with our Walker family.
