"Daisy Flowers of Walnut Hill Dies At Age 74
"Mrs. Daisy Pearl Flowers of Walnut Hill died at 12:05 a.m. today in St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia. She was 74 years, five months and 15 days old.

She was born March 4, 1883, in Jefferson county, the daughter of Levi and Winnie Parker Walker.

Survivors include her husband, James D. Flowers of Dix' three sons, Raymond, Charles and Earl Flowers, all of Centralia; three daughters, Mrs. Nellie Piercy, Centralia; Mrs. Winnie Mooney, Dix; and Mrs. Doris Schnute of California; one brother, Fred Walker of Dix; two sisters, Mrs. Vena Hawkins, Dix; Mrs. Iva Gossett, Centralia, 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Shipvllle Pentecost church.

The body will lie in state at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, where friends may call after 1 P.m. tomorrow. Funeral services will be held there Wednesday at 2 p.m. and burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery."

"Iva L. Gossett Dies At 78; Rites At Centralia
"Mrs Iva Lena Gossett, 78, of 521 E. 11th, Centralia died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday after an illness of five years.

"Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. today at Garnier & Sons Funeral Home in Centralia and burial will follow in the Boyd cemetery.

Mrs. Gossett was the daughter of Levi V. and Winnie Louise (Parker) Walker.

On October 30, 1901 she was married to John Wesley Gossett, who preceded her in death in 1949.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Iris Warner of Centralia; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Vena Hawkins of Dix."

"J. Fred Walker Of Dix Dies; Rites At 2:00 Saturday
" J. Fred Walker, of Dix, died at 11:50 last night at Good Samaritan Hospital, at the age of 73 years, nine months and 20 days.
Mr. Walker was a retired employee of the Southern Railway Co.
He was a member of the Central Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm. at the Oxborn Funeral Home in Dix. The Rev. Lester Pifer will officiate and burial will follow in Memorial Gardens.
The body will lie in state at the Osborn Funeral Home at Dix, where friends may call after 6:00 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Walker was born April 29, 1884 in Boyd, the son of Levi and Winnie (Parker) Walker.
In December, 1904 he was married to Maryme Rice, who survives.
Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jewel Talbott and Mrs. Bee Carpenter, both of Mt. Vernon; two sons, James of Mt. Veron and Dennis of Smithton, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Vena Hawkins of Dix and Mrs. Iva Gossett of Centralia; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two half-brothers."
