Earl appears in the 1900 census with his parents but is missing in 1910. Additionally, his mother's 1910 census data indicates that she has had 5 children of whom 4 are living. | Wright, Earl (I6288)
|
| 1802 |
Earl's implied surname in the 1920 census is "Jones," that of his mother's current husband. However, they did not marry until 1917, and Ollie had previously been married to a man named "Burnett." | Burnett, Earl (I6147)

Edith C. (Waller) Patten's 1900 census enumeration indicated that she had borne three children, only two still living in that year. As Amelia and George D. were known to be living, "Sylvester" or "William" had probably died.
An internet source offers his death date as 11 October 1890, which fits the above. Since his parents were known to be in Washington State by 1887, he may have died in Washington. | Patten, Sylvester (I79)

Effie Lish, widow of John J. Lish is seen in the 1951 Nashville directory.
Her death date is sometimes given in 1967, confused with the obituary of an Effie Jane Walker who died in December of that year. However, the obituary of Effie Jane Walker names her as the former "Miss Effie Jane Cleghorne" of Cookeville. | Walker, Effie (I5417)

Effie M. Lish, "wid John J." Also listed at the same address were Dorothy E. Lish and John J. Lish (draftsman). | Walker, Effie (I5417)

Elbert Best, Angelica's husband, was enumerated in 1880 as a widower, with a two-year-old son, suggesting that Angelica may have died in childbirth in 1878. In conflict with this, numerous unsourced internet sources offer a death year for Angelica of 1874. Supporting her earlier death, Stephen Best's 1954 death certificate states that his parents were Elbert Best and Ruth Davis, and he was born on 25 October 1877. No Missouri or Illinois marriage record has been located for Elbert Best and Ruth Davis, but it is likely that Angelica died prior to 1877, possibly in 1874, as purported, and that Elbert had a brief marriage or liaison with a Ruth Davis, resulting in the birth of Stephen L. Best. | Walker, Angelica (I4191)

Eliza may have died in childbirth in 1863, as the Heycuz website gives her death as 10 October 1863 and lists child "M. V. Duncan" as born in 1863. The latter child appears in no additional records and may have died, as well. The Heycuz data for Hiram Walker Duncan offers a number of sources, including Duncan Bible records, but is not specific about which records support which information.
Certainly Hiram W. Duncan had remarried by 1880, when his wife is Cynthia M. The attributed marriage date for Hiram and Cynthia on the Heycuz site is 1868. | Clark, Elizabeth A. (I55)

Elizabeth (Sharp) Walker probably died between 1840 and 1846. In 1846 Simeon married a second time to Sally Whittenburg, who was born about 1796. In Simeon's 1840 census, his apparent wife was between 30-40, calculating to a birth year of between 1800 and 1810.
Internet sources state Elizabeth's death as 1846, but offer no source citations.
She probably died in either Clinton or Washington County, Illinois. | Sharp, Elizabeth (I4556)
|
| 1814 |
Elizabeth appears in her family home in 1850, age 8. She is no longer in the home in 1860, when she would have been age 18. It is likely that she married between 1859-1860. It should be remembered that Stephenson could have been her second husband.
No likely marriage records for Elizabeth (or variant) Walker have been located just prior to 1860 in Macoupin or Madison counties, nor has the marriage of a Stephenson/Stevenson to an Elizabeth been located at any time prior to 1880. | Family (F1663)

Elizabeth was born in either Georgia or Tennessee. The record in her children's census data predominantly indicates "Tennessee." However, it should be remembered that Elizabeth died in 1835, leaving children from ages 24 down to a newborn infant. Many of the older children did not survive to the time of the 1880 census, which was the first to offer information on the birthplace of parents. The younger children, who really never knew their mother, may have been more confused on the point of her birth.
Of more value, perhaps, is evidence of the birthplace of her sister, Mary "Polly" (Walker) Hartley, also born about 1790. (It is not known if they were twins, or just very close in age.) Polly's own enumeration in 1850 and 1860 Dickson County states her birthplace as "Georgia." Additionally, the census data of her children Allen, Jackson, Retha, and John in the 1880 census all stated their mother's birthplace as "Georgia." Retha and John were enumerated in 1900, indicating their mother's birth in Georgia. Retha alone survived to the 1910 census, and in that one census, her mother's birthplace is given as "Tennessee."
John E. Hartley's biography in Goodspeed states "John E. Hartley, President of the Stockton Exchange Bank of Stockton, Mo., was born in Dickson County, Tenn., on the 13th of February, 1821, his parents being James and Elizabeth (Walker) Hartley, who were born near Augusta, Ga., and in Tennessee in 1780 and 1790, and died in Cedar county, Mo., and Bond County, Ill. in 1835 and 1855, respectively." While it is a confusing sentence, it probably intended to convey that James Hartley was born in Georgia and Elizabeth (Walker) Hartley in Tennessee.
It is likely that Elizabeth was, however, born in Georgia, as her sister born around the same time was, and her younger siblings, George and Elijah were born in Georgia. | Walker, Elizabeth (I650)

| 1817 |
Elizabeth's 1845 marriage to William Pritchett lasted less than five years. In 1850 she was enumerated in her parents' household. The 1850 census does not assign marital status and research will be required to determine if William Pritchett died, as is most likely. Elizabeth's surname is implied to be "Walker" as other household members, but is probably "Pritchett." | Family (F1727)

Elizabeth's maiden name is given on the carded record of Alexander George's pension application for War of 1812 service. | May, Elizabeth "Betsey" (I10)

Ellen's death certificate gives her mother's maiden name as "Charlotte O'Ferrell," unlikely since she was born in Dickson County and married the Irish-born Edwin O'Ferrell. | Charlotte (I5415)

Elsie Fay Smith's marriage to Oliver Newsom, cited in the Smith book and confirmed by her death certificate, has not been located. Email from Charlie Lamberen, San Joaquin County Genealogical Society, January 2007:
Janis W Gilmore I'm responding to your e-mail regarding the Walker Family. To give you an idea of what we do is simple searches, by that I mean we can copy information from Birth ,Marriage ( for marriage we need both individuals names) or Death Records at the county recorders office for San Joaquin County, or get copies of obituaries from our local newspaper in Stockton, CA. I do not look up probate records, as that information is located at the superior court and can take several visits to get the information if it's available, and lots of waiting time. For those who want to go in this direction I would provide you with the address and let you acquire that information by mail. You will have to be very specific with names and dates. I understand they charge a look up fee of $7 and 50 cents per copy. I also do not look up deeds as this also is very time consuming, and without actual dates of property purchase or sale there are many volumes of records to research.
For those who want to get down and dirty, I can direct you to a middle person who can put you in contact with professional researches for our area. And if you have looked at any older Death Records at the recorders office you will understand that back in the late 1800's, there may only be one line showing very little information. And for obituaries they are almost nonexistent back in the late 1800's. It may only indicate that so and so died. No family information. With that in mind I have spent a couple of hours looking through our library and a few internet sites I can get into and a trip to Rural Cemetery and provide you with the following information: William K Walker married a Bridget Dolan on September 3, 1867 in San Joaquin County, CA Buried in Rural Cemetery, Stockton CA are: William K Walker buried November 5, 1888 age 53 Bridget Walker " April 13, 1884 age 45 William H Walker " August 3, 1902 age 34 he died single I found that most of the time the buried date is the death date back in the 1800's. I went by Rural Cemetery and tried to find their other kids but none of the them matched born years you provided from the 1880 census and died dates they had on file. I did find: George F Walker born 1870 and died April 4, 1939, he is buried at San Joaquin Cemetery which is a catholic cemetery. He married a G. Nellie Welch on October 28, 1902 in San Joaquin Co., she was born abt 1883 in California. Their children, were all born in San Joaquin County
R Melvin was born abt 1904 G Lila was born March 29, 1907 B Madeline no idea of birth date Everett Francis was born June 12, 1910 and died February 24, 1988, San Joaquin County George H was born October 26, 1912 Ralph W (could be William) was born October 18, 1915 There may be other children and you understand they may not have lived or died in San Joaquin county, after their parents died.
One of my guesses is that Robert Walker died in Sacramento County and Monty or Montgomery died in Glenn County!!!
At least I've provided you with some data. We do charge a fee for look up's as I first mention. I wouldn't be able to tell you how much it will be until you let me know what you want me to copy or obit look ups. I'll leave it up to you to let me know.
You say you're headed toward Salt Lake City. I've heard that you really have to be organized when you go to the library. We've never done research there, but I don't think we could handle it. We've been to Sutro Library and that's confusing enough.
When you're ready you can contact me at: Charlie Lambaren - research e-mail melrlamb@juno.com San Joaquin Gen Society

So here goes as to where to get information, but first let me mention you have such unusual first names such as: George, Charles, Robert, and Monty or Montgomery!!!!!!!!!!!. I found you site on Rootsweb and see what you mean about Humphreys and Dickson Counties.

Evidence that "John M. Walker" found in 1850 Macoupin Co census married to "Danah" (sometimes incorectly transcribed as "Darrah") is the same man as "John Mc Walker" found in 1860 Macoupin Co census married to Harriet.
- Both the 1850 and the 1860 John were located in Twp 7, Rg 7
- Both families were surrounded by Sawyer families
- Record of "John M. C. Walker" marriage to Dinah Moore in Madison Co (neighboring), 1838
- The John Walker married to Harriet in the 1860 census was enumerated as "John Mc Walker"
