Oley/Ollie's family is found in the 1910 White County census; her husband's marital status is "widowed."

Olive was married to a Burnett, her name at the time of her marriage to Thomas Jones was Ollie M. Burnett.

Olly appears in the 1850 Macoupin County census with her parents, age 15. Her cemetery stone names her as the wife of William Scroggins, who died on 11 January 1852. No record has yet been found of their marriage.

Although her birth date, which calculates to approximately 1835 in the 1850 census, and the one on her cemetery stone of 6 August 1833 are in conflict, the conflict is not beyond the normal range of error for a birthdate from two such sources. The cemetery stone is more likely to be accurate, but both either could be in error.

On 23 June 1962 the Albuquerque (New Mexico) Journal reported the marriage of James W. Findley, son of Elza and Lois Findley. James's brother Don Findley was one of the ushers. The family was all gathered together.

Just nine days later the same newspaper carried the story when Don shot his father Elza Findley with a .357 Magnum revolver in the parking lot of their service station.

Only a few pieces of paper and a cemetery stone document the short life of Sarah A. Walker--her father's Bible entry of her birth, two census enumerations, a marriage record, and her burial record. She was born in 1862, after the beginning of the Civil War and after her father had been incarcerated at Camp Douglas as one of the Confederates surrendered to the Union at Fort Donelson the previous February. Her father, though released in a prisoner exchanged, served the Confederacy until the end of the War, returning home in 1865, when Sarah was three years old. The next few years were years of struggle in war-torn Middle Tennessee. Enumerated at age 8 in 1870, Sarah was the only oldest of her siblings not to work in the cotton factory; with sisters ages 4, 2, and 5 months, she was undoubtedly kept busy at home by her mother and her grandmother, who lived with them. In 1872, when Sarah was 10, her father moved his family to Howell County, Missouri, where he could homestead and make a fresh start and a better life for his numerous children. Sarah married nine years later, Daniel Webster Smith her chosen husband was the brother of her older sister Mary's husband, Andrew Jackson Smith. Sarah lived a little less than two years after her marriage, very likely dying in childbirth, soon after her 19th birthday.

Paul Wesley Reeves married Ruth Tripp. Ruth's obituary named her parents as Jesse and Minnie Tripp. Harold's wife was known to be Violet J., but her surname was unknown to me. A Violet J. Tripp, however, is found in the home of Jesse and Minnie Tripp in Elbert County, Colorado, born in 1921, the correct year for Harold's wife Violet. There is little doubt that she was Violet J. Tripp prior to marriage, and the younger sister of Paul W. Reeves.

Possible parent? George Walker of Goochland County, son of William Walker and his first wife (second wife Jane Burton). George Walker married Eliza Green in 1787 Goochland Co VA, William Walker also mentioned.

Could this be a second marriage of our Progen to Elizabeth? Possibly Samuel A., Archalaus were from the first marriage? Timing is right for Elizabeth, Polly, etc to begin being born 1790 GA. Married and moved to GA?

Older brother Patton Walker.

Patton Walker, who was early in Madison/Macoupin IL area, would have been the uncle of Samuel and Arch.

Rufus Ray Clark, Jr., has an autosomal DNA match to James R. Walker, Sr. and Gerald Hartley. Rufus is from the Jacob/Agnes line, Gerald from the Elizabeth/James Hartley line, and James R. Walker descends from the Patton Walker who was in Macoupin Co IL.

HOWEVER, Patton Walker's Y-DNA placed him in Group 26, not Group 2, of the Walker DNA study.
