Could Jacob have had two sons named James?
In the 1850 census, James A. Walker appears in the household. Archalus Walker is the head, but all children are listed after Jacob, implying that they were his children. James A. Walker was born about 1832 in Illinois.
Archalus C. Walker is another son of Jacob Walker, and he is found in the 1850 Macoupin Co census, living in the home of a James Walker, born about 1818 in Tennessee. James Walker is married to Mary, and they have children Agnes and Jacob, strong evidence that James was the son of Jacob. Additionally, internet sources name him as the son of Jacob and Agnes.
Either Jacob named two sons James, or possibly one of them was the son of another brother, who lived with Jacob's family? Other postulated brothers included a James and a Joseph. | Walker, Jacob (I324)

Could the Samuel A. Walker, b abt 1780-1790, found in the 1830 Madison Co IL census, with a female, aged 50-60, be the son of this Samuel Walker? In the 1820 Madison Co IL census, Samuel Walker, over 45, is found with hisapparent wife, over 45. They had 5 children under the age of 10, so it is likely that they were close to 45.
Samuel A. Walker household
1 male 10-15
1 male 20-30 [ Phillip V. Walker?]
«b»1 male 40-50 [Samuel A. Walker]
«/b»1 female under 5
2 females 5-10
1 female 20-30
1 female 60-70
The older woman in Samuel A. Walker's 1830 Madison Co household is 60-70, probably too old to have borne 5 children between 1810 and 1820, as in the 1820 Samuel Walker census. Samuel himself is 40-50. Also, iif Samuel A. Walker was the child of the 1820 Samuel and wife, he was not in their home in 1820, as the only males were under 10.
Could Samuel A. Walker's age have been recorded wrong in the 1830 census, or the previous census? Are these two entirely different Walker families? Do either of them have a relationship with our Walker line? Possibly the elder Samuel was a brother to our Walker progenitor? An older brother to Arch? Child of a first marriage? | Walker, Samuel (I4142)

Could this be a bro of Martha Louisa DAVIS? In 1850 White Co IL census, there is a Willaim H. DAVIS, age 3, in the home of his apparent parents, Isaac DAVIs and Martha. The age and year of birth do not agree, but are within 2-3 yrs discrepancy. | Davis, William Henry (I3129)

Could this be a daughter of John C. and Caroline CLARK? The 1910 census shows John C. CLARK with a grand daughter, Bessie May Black, age 11, in his household. This would fit with the 1895 marriage date of Minnie Belle CLARK and Archa BLACK. | Clark, Minnie Belle (I849)

David Corsar appears to have lived in the Mains and Strathmartine area most of the time, but sometimes in Dundee.
David Corsar, "wright," had the following children with his wife, named as "Margaret Durham" or "Isobel Durham." It would appear that these two are different names for the same woman, because the children's birth years dovetail perfectly. However, it is possible that there were two David Corsars living in the area, and that they were married to two Durham woman. There is a marriage record (OPR) for David Corsar and Margaret Durham, 1766. No record can be located for an Isobel Durham at any date in this period.
1767, Elizabeth, Mains and Strathmartine (Craigie, no occupation)
1768, Jean, Mains and Strathmartine
1770, Isabell, Dundee
1772, Ann, Mains and Strathmartine
1774, Helen, Mains and Strathmartine
1776, Janet, Mains and Strathmartine
1779, James, Mains and Strathmartine
1780, Margt, Mains and Strathmartine
1782, Margt, Mains and Strathmartine
1784, May, Mains and Strathmartine (Isobel)
1787, Mary, Mains and Strathmartine (Isobel)
1791, Barbara, Dundee
1793, Grace, Dundee
An Isobel "Corser" was buried on 15 April 1797 in Monifieth Parish. A map of Angus County parishes shows that Monifieth bordered Dundee parish to the West.
An Elizabeth "Corser" died a few days earlier and was buried in the same place.
