Married Lonnie Unknown, who died of a heart attack while fighting fire down around the South Fork area in Howell Co MO . They had no children (lost one baby). She next married Glen Livengood in the Maryville MO area. They had no children, but she raised Glen's two children, Kenneth and (?). Kenneth's family now lives in Boise ID, although Kenneth died of a heart attack. Marion and Glen moved to CA and lived in the Glenwood area for many years. Moved back to MO where they both died and are buried, around Maryville somewhere. First husband's name may have been CARROL since I found a record online of a Glen LIVENGOOD who was married twice, once to a Marian CARROL Lonnie W. CARROLL died fighting a fire. Martha would have been about 15 at the time of this first. brief marriage. Divorce was unusual, particularly after such a brief period. It also seems unusual that Ivy DeBoard, from a quite religious family, chose to marry a recently divorced young woman. Martha herself was quite religious--her preacher son remembers her praying loudly and fervently, sometimes at inconvenient times. | Family (F166)

Mary got to know Elmer in Mountain View, and became engaged to him. He subsequently moved to California, and although she considered herself to be engaged, she actually continued dating. She had given her word to Elmer, so when he asked her to come to California to him to be married, she did. Her parents would not allow her to be married before she was 18, but a few days after her 18th birthday she took a train to California, where Elmer met her at the station. They had to apply for a marriage license and wait three days. During this period, she stayed with some friends of Elmer's sister Vera Gulley (whose husband was Owen - they were the parents of Lola Gulley who married Jack WALKER). They were married at the home of those friends. Vera and Owen were moving back to Missouri around that time, and Elmer and Mary took over the rented house which they had vacated. Mary said that when she went back to that house with Elmer, her new husband, she had not seen him for 18 months. Mary and Elmer were married for around 60 years and raised two wonderful daughters. | Family (F541)

Matilda's first cousin once removed, Oliver Caswell King. His Civil War correspondence with Katherine Rebecca Rutledge (later his wife) are online at the Tennessee State Library and Archives site.

Matilda's father was Isaac King. Oliver was the son of Isaac's brother David and wife Elizabeth Sharp. This parentage for Oliver is from the TSLA site, and a subsequent website. However, the King descendancy book cited on my Martha King page states that Isaac's brother William was married to Elizabeth Sharp.
