My published version of the 1900 Howell Co MO census states her birth year as 1882; however, it also clearly states that she was 7 years old. Obviously the correct birthyear must have been 1892. | Hope, May (I1300)

Mysteriously, I believe they are listed in the 1930 census as William H. and Ephria PHIPPS. Living in Goldsberry Twp of Howell Co (as they should be), and respectively ages 70 and 60 (should be 69 and 60, which is close enough). William H.'s birthplace MO, father's KY, mother's TN (as it should be), and Ephria's bp TN, her parents both TN as well (as it should be). | Phipps, James Thomas (I3497)

Name may have originally been Samuel Patton STORY, since that was a family name - since his father died when he was quite small, his mother may have imperfectlly remembered the middle name. Per Jack STORY.
May be buried at Fowler Cemetery, just off of highway 160 near Arditta. The Howell County Cemetery book lists an "S. T. Story" in that cemetery, with no dates or other data. The cemetery is listed roughly in the order of the grave, rather than alphabetically, which should have placed his stone near that of Vina Sharp, as well as a couple of other Story's. His stone does not appear in the cemetery, but there are a couple of places near where it should be that are empty. Possibly it crumbled. We cannot know with any certainty that this is where his grave is located, but it seems possible that his middle initial of "P." could have been misread as "T." | Story, Samuel Patterson (I2208)

Named as "Louisa May" in the 1881 census. Her death cert (naming parents as John Hurlburt and Jane Gilmore) names her as "Margaret Louise Hussey." 1891 and 1901 census as "Margaret Hussey."
Possible that this is the eldest dau in the 1881 census household, Mary Jane, instead of Louise? Mary Jane in 1881 calculated to birth in 1867, Louisa May to 1869. Margaret Louisa was born 1868, according to death cert and 1901 census. | Hurlbert, Margaret Louise (I518)

Neal Walker did not move away from Mountain View as a child. He was, however, younger than 22 when he first went out to Oklahoma to make a start. Possibly the fact that he was a "young man" when he moved to Oklahoma became confused with being "a child."
It came as a surprise to see in the obituary that he married "Mary Crowder." We had always known her to be Mary Polk. Further investigation on this point has revealed that Mary was previously married to a man named FULLER - but the CROWDER remains a mystery. Possibly whoever wrote the obituary was confused about the fact that his mother was a Crowder. | Source (S324)
