  Married: It is possible there is another William Donald/Donnet married to an Elizabeth Smith. The profession of William here appears to be "Carter" (difficult to read), which doesn't seem right. But later he was a coal merchant, so perhaps he tried several occupations. Supporting the likelihood, John's usual residence was Maxwelltown.
