"MANHATTAN --- James T. Gilmore, 78, Manhattan, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at a Manhattan retirement community.
He was born Jan. 29, 1923, in Boise, Idaho, the son of Earl and Ethel Whitaker Gilmore. He earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry at Kansas State University and had lived in Manhattan for the past 25 years.
Mr. Gilmore was a member of the Shriners and the Masonic Lodge.
He married Betty Wood on Jan. 19, 1946, in St. Joseph, Mo.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynn Riedel, Broken Arrow, Okla.; a son, Jim Gilmore, Burlington; five grandchildren; and a great- grandchild.
Mr. Gilmore was cremated. Graveside services at Sunrise Cemetery will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association and be sent in care of Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home in Manhattan." |
