"Charles J. Schultz
Railroad engineer
Carl J. Schult, 70, of 16 Grandview st., Roslindale, a retired train engineer, died of a heart attack yesterday at St. Raphael's Hospital in New Haven.
He was born in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, on March 28, 1905. He moved to the Boston area in 1942 and worked as an engineer on the old New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad line until his retirement in 1965. He had earlier worked for the National Gympsum Co.
Mr. Schultz was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Dorchester and was a life member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Division 312.
He leaves his wife, Bessie (Wood); a son, Rev. John C. Schultz of Elkhart, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. Harold Wimmer of Hampden, Conn.; a brother, Herbert E. Schultz, of Roslindale, a retired Boston police lieutenant; a sister, Mrs. Morrie Stewart of West Roxbury, and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Dorchester." |
