- I had info that Martha Armelia was married to a COBB - from my father. Only gradually did I realize from marriage records that she must have first been married to a GRIFFIN - and was able to locate that record, as well. These two marriages are firmly established, by putting together info from the marriage record of Martha DeBOARD to Caleb GRIFFIN, then the marriage of M.A. Griffin to James W. Cobb, then the birth record of a son to James W. Cobb and Armelia DeBoard.

James W. Cobb to M.A. Griffin
Martha Armelia DeBoard was first married to Caleb Griffin. Hence, her second marriage records her as "M.A. Griffin." Confirmation that this is the correct person comes from a birth record of one of their children, which names the father as James W. Cobb and the mother's maiden name as Martha A. Deboard.
