  This family group is confusing, but I believe this is probably the same John Story, father of George T. STORY. He is said to have married a Clara or Clarinda VICKERS. However, the wife in the attached census is Elizabeth. Possibly Clarinda and Elizabeth are the same person? Or possibly his marriage to Clarinda was at a different time? These children would appear to be the children of said Elizabeth, since their mother is stated to have been born in PA, and she was. If George T. STORY is indeed the son of this John A. STORY, then the relationship between my gr gr grandfather Samuel P. STORY (b 1856) who married Minnie Ellen HILL to George T. STORY who married her sister, Mary HILL, is at last defined. CENSUS NOTE: This would appear to be the John A STORY who was the eldest son of George Foster STORY, by his first wife, Malinda LEACH. My gr gr grandfather Samuel P. STORY would have been born nearly 20 years later, to his second wife, Charity ADAMS VICKERS. If correct, this at last defines the elusive relationship between Samuel P STORY (who married Minnie Ellen HILL) and George T. STORY (who married her sister, Mary HILL); they were cousins (George T being the son of Samuel P's elder half-brother. The fact that this family is found in the Morgan Co IL census supports further the idea that this is the George T. STORY who married Mary HILL, whose family was also in Morgan Co IL at one time. William HILL, Mary's father, was b in PA, as was George STORY's mother. Possible connection between William HILL & Elizabeth UNKNOWN? [2]
