"Choctaw Child Dies And Mother Hurt When Gas Ignites
Ola Fay Deaton, 13 months old, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. J.W. Deaton, near Choctaw, died at University hospital about 6 o'clock Saturday night from burns received when a pan of gasoline ignited in the Deaton home Saturday afternoon.
Mrs. Deaton, who was holding the infant, also was severely burned, but attendants at the hospital said she would recover.
The accident happened while Mrs. Deaton was cleaning clothes with gasoline while holding the child. The gasoline pan sitting near the stove ignited."

"Funeral service for the eleven-months old daughter of Mr. & Mrs. J.W. Deaton, near Choctaw, will be held at the Spencer cemetery Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. It was announced at Watts & McAtee." |
