THE OBITUARY OF GEORGE ANDREW YOCKY

George Andrew Yocky, 49, of Westminster, California passed away on February 8, 2018 at Manor Care Health Services, Fountain Valley. A Memorial Service was held on February 22, 2018 at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, Fullerton, California.

George was born in Garden Grove to William and Nancy Yocky on August 25, 1968. He was the youngest of five children. He attended Westminster High School followed by the completion of a Floral Design curriculum. For over 30 years, George worked as a Floral Designer and Patio Furniture Specialist at Gibson Pottery Plus, STATS Floral Supply, and Backyard Expressions where he created stunning floral arrangements, exquisite holiday decor and designed exterior living spaces. George hung Christmas Trees upside down, with his bow making skills earning him the reputation of making "signature bows", for which he will be forever remembered.

George was a loving, kind, and gentle man who adored his family and friends, enjoyed classical music, cooking, gardening, holiday decorating, planning and hosting parties celebrating life events, and fireside evenings in his backyard. George's backyard was truly a tropical paradise. He doted on his mother, loved his father dearly, and shared fun times with his siblings who all have the "Yocky" sense of humor, quick witted and outright funny! George truly enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was proud to be their "Uncle George". He made every family celebration special, from the July 4th birthday celebrations for his father, with Christmas and every family wedding being designed from his heart.

George was involved in fellowship, and fundraising projects with the St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church. He was especially thankful for the love and support extended to him by the St. Philip Benizi Community Women's Council. George's life was filled with numerous best friends, who loved him dearly. From California to Indiana, Canada to Austria, his best friends both near and far expressed their support in his final days with ongoing visitations, telephone calls, and messages of love.

George is preceded in death by his grandparents Claude and Lena Yocky, Ernest and Elizabeth Dollinger, and Aunts Cora Yocky, and Dolores Ohrt. He is
survived by his loving parents William and Nancy Yocky, sisters Sandra Maul (John), Elizabeth Hendershot (Mike), brothers Robert "Bob" Yocky, and Claude Yocky (Grace), Uncle Myron Yocky, Aunt Mary Lou Boies, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

    GOD'S GARDEN (AUTHOR UNKNOWN)

God looked around the Garden and saw an empty space.
He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God's Garden must be beautiful for he only takes the best.

He saw the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyes and whispered "Peace be Thine".

It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you the day God called you home.

George thank you for being a part of our lives, we will forever miss your love, kindness, and your wonderful sense of humor. Memorial donations may be made in the name of George Yocky to the St. Philip Benizi Church, 235 S. Pine Drive, Fullerton, California, 92883. The Yocky Family wishes to extend their gratitude to our many family members and friends, HavenHealth Hospice, and Smart Cremation.
