Obituary, Herald and Review"Rev. R. Neal Barnett, 77, of Decatur died Thursday (April 1, 1999) in his residence. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Boiling Springs Church of God. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday in Brintlinger?s Funeral Home. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be made to Boiling Springs Church of God.
The Rev. Barnett was born in Osbornville, the son of George E. and Nita Davis Barnett. He was a retired minister of Van Buren Church of God after 35 years of service and interim pastor at Cumberland Presbyterian church in Bethany and Boiling Springs Church of God. He later served as Pastor at Boiling Springs Church of God until his death. he was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Armu. He married Ina Mae Walters in Decatur on Aug 9, 1941. Surviving are his wife; daughters, Linda McCoy an husband Jack of Bowling Green, Ky.; Shirley Eads and husband Dean of Fairborn, Ohio; Kaye Hale and husband Jim of Decatur; Cindy Hartman of Decatur; sister, Marie Noland of Decatur; brother, Harold Barnett of Albuquerque, N.M.; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Vivian, eight brothers and sisters and one grandson, Jayson Hartman." |
