Leavenworth Weekly Times:"Julius A. Ballou, of the Kansas State home, the Dodge City Republican-Globe says, is an artist of no mean ability. his studio is well worth a visit. There one can spend a pleasant hour in viewing the many fine creations of his brush which hang upon the walls. If you wish a picture of a landscape or any kind of a bird or animal, or of yourself, he will paint one while you wait. Comrade Ballou is in his 73rd year, gets but a small pension and is the sole support of an invalid sister living in Chicago. he served in D, 75th Illinois infantry." |
