The Rev. Oren Allen DeBoard, 82, of Lancaster died Sunday at Lancaster Health Care Center.
The Rev. DeBoard was native of Missouri. He lived in Lancaster less than a year, previously lived in Indio two years and Spring Valley Lake 26 years. He also had lived throughout the state of California as he was opening new churches in Modesto, Bellflower, Carpenteria, Lancaster, Lake Los Angeles and many other cities. He worked as a Nazarene pastor and chiropractor. He started 14 Nazarene churches across the state.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara DeBoard of Lancaster; children, Norma Smith, Suzanne Holbrook and Karen Wheatley; brother, James DeBoard of San Gabriel; sisters, Mary Lewis of Lake Elsinore and Beulah Hollenbeck of California; and 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Visitation from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Rose Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary, Whittier. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Rosemead Church of the Nazarene, San Gabriel.
