  • Notes 
    • Caroline's husband, Frank A. Patterson, was a successful farmer in Polk County, Oregon. He was elected to the lower house of the Oregon state legislature in 1880 and 1882. He was a promoter of and, for three years, president of the Independence & Monmouth Railway.

      Caroline's eldest son Isaac Patterson was governor of Oregon from 1926 to 1929, when he died of pneumonia. [11]
