    Additional info states that it was changed to "Mack's Town" for all the "Mc" and "Mac" surnames--like McRae, the white family that Tristram Leggett was affiliated with. The "Mack's Town" evolved into "Maxton."

    NOTE_RESEARCH It seems fairly certain that this Margaret, married to Adolphus, is the eldest child of Truss and Esther Leggett. Margaret Leggett appears in the home of Truss in 1880, as his single daughter, and Margaret Moore's marriage was in abt 1883, which matches up.

    There is, however, another Maggie Leggett in the area, married to Allen Robinson.
