One of these Bibles was probably copied from the other and "Mar" (abbreviation for March) mistaken for "May"--or vice versa. The McMillan Bible "had a date 1786, but the fly leaf was missing." The Collins Bible has no accompanying publication data. No information on varying hands, pens, etc. With nothing further to go one, the date could be either.
