  Parents	Elizabeth/Eliza (Gilmore) Kidney is identified as a sister of Thomas Gilmore who married Mary Read. First it is necessary to illustrate the link between Maria Gilmore and her parents Thomas Gilmore and Mary Read: Maria (Gilmore) Cairns died in February 1900, "age 60," calculating to a birth year of 1839 or 1840 Maria Gilmore was born on 6 August 1839. She died around 1900 Brother Charles Gilmore mentioned his "Aunt Kidney" in his 1906 affidavit A narrative on the Samuel Cairns family tells this story of his meeting with his wife, Maria Gilmore, who worked at the local hotel:" At that time a man by the name of Kidney run it and did quite a business there. A young Irish girl worked there by the name of Myria Gilmoure, a niece of Mrs. Kidney." Maria (Gilmore) Cairns was born in Ireland Maria Gilmore was born in Ireland, according to her sister Jane Ann From that point, a history of Nasagiweya township, Halton County, mentioned the James Kidney who ran the hotel around that time.
