On 23 June 1962 the Albuquerque (New Mexico) Journal reported the marriage of James W. Findley, son of Elza and Lois Findley. James's brother Don Findley was one of the ushers. The family was all gathered together.
Just nine days later the same newspaper carried the story when Don shot his father Elza Findley with a .357 Magnum revolver in the parking lot of their service station.
