  	Obituary, Liberal News "Cora Walker Dies at Age 91 Mrs. Cora Ellen Walker, 91, died at 7:15 Thursday night, October 9, in Memorial hospital where she had been a patient since August 22. She was born April 16, 1878 at Kingsport, Tenn., the daughter of William E. and Belle Hicks Burk. Her father died when she was six months of age and she and her mother moved to south Missouri with her grandparents. She married Helton A. Walker January 18, 1894, in Howell county. They moved to Texas county where the engaged in farming and in 1923 moved to a farm in Barton county. He was also a minister in Texas and Barton counties. They retired from farming in 1943 and moved into Liberal where Mr. Walker died in November, 1957. She continued to make her home on Darwin street and was able to maintain her own home until recently. She was a member of the Bethel Methodist church in Summersville. Survivors are seven sons, Othal Walker, Hollis Walker, sr., Clyde Walker, Kenneth Walker, all of Liberal, E. S. Walker of Powell, Wyo., Everett Walker of St. Joseph, and Howard Walker of Riverton, Wyo.; three daughters, Mrs Edith Hart of Powell, Wyo., Mrs. Myrtle Reeder of Mulberry, Kan., and Mrs. Wilma Watkins of Phoenix, Ariz.; 35 grandchildren; 98 great grandchildren; and 17 great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Liberal Methodist church, with the Rev. Silas Cunningham of Springfield officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. James Roller. Burial was in the Liberal City cemetery under the direction of the Berkey funeral service of Mulberry. Pallbearers were Joe Hedges, George Thornton, Francis Jones, Bill Hackney, Bill Reynolds, and W. E Bowman. Singers were Mrs. Bill Lathim and Vernon Snodgrass. Mrs. Jake Myers provided piano accompaniment E. S. Walker of Powell was the only one of the children unable to attend the funeral."
