ALBUQUERQUE (AP) ? An Albuquerque couple, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Heister have received official word that their last son, Marine Lt. Richard Heister, died in a helicopter crash Wednesday in Viet Nam. Their oldest son, Marine Lt. Ted Heister, died in a helicopter crash in the Philippines 14 months ago after completing a tour in Viet Nam." |

HEISTER?Minnie Ellen Heister, age 73, passed away at a local nursing home Thursday. Mrs. Heister had been a resident of Albuquerque for 20 years coming from Roswell, NM. She was a member of the Latter Day Saints 2nd Ward in Roswell and was devoted to the L.D.S. church and had been through 3 Temples. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Heister in 1984 and by two sons in the Vietnam War. She is survived by three daughters, Berneace Shepherd of Texas, Linda Wilson and husband, Jim of Albuquerque and Dorothy Baker and husband, Dan of Roswell; three sisters, Dorothy Pinell, Barbara Smith and Maude Evans, all of Colorado; one brother, Bob Walker of Colorado; 20 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today at 2:00 p.m. from the Church of Latter Day Saints 2nd Ward. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery in Roswell, NM. Pallbearers will be Lance Heister, James Wilson, Shannon McConnell, Scott Grosso, Daniel Baker and James L. Wilson. Arrangements by the Crestview Funeral Home, 7601 Wyoming NE. |
