  1840 Hickman Co TN census shows a John RIVES about four names away from a James M. Whitfield. Chances are that there is a WHITFIELD in the REEVES background. (Research):Several REEVES are found in the 48th TN, Co G, with HR Walker: Robert Reeves, H. Reeves, N. Reeves, B. Reeves.
