Narrative |
Newspaper article mentioning Elsie, but about her father, helps to clarify name:
"Herman Pieper is Victim of Many Ailments
Herman Pieper, who was seriously hurt November 5, 1935, spent six months in the Bailey Hospital at Lincoln. Mrs. Pieper moved her family to Omaha so that she might find work. Mr. Pieper has been getting around by the use of a cane, but his condition has gotten steadily worse. He has again entered the Baily Hospital to undergo treatment. He had a crushed pelvis, a double fracture of the right knee and a split tibia. A portion of the leg has never come back to normal, being paralyzed. His daughter, Mrs. Elsie Deichmann, and grandson, Jimmie Joe, have returned home from Sioux City. They will make their home for the time being with Mrs. Pieper and children. The Piepers were residents of Merrick county for 19 years, and resided ten years in Central City." [2] |
Narrative |
Othal's obit states that he has a son, James J. Walker, of Pittsburg KS. Was he Othal's son, born into the Deichmann marriage, but later took the name Walker? |
