  • Notes
    • (Research):The likely years of Polly's death were calculated from information contained in the Revolutionary Pension file of her husband James Vickers, and the subsequent pension application of his widow, Elizabeth (Mowery) Vickers. Elizabeth stated that she married James in 1799, and that his eldest son was just 18 months younger than she. Also that he had 7 children with his first wife. Since Margaret was born the year before John, we can assume that 5 more children were born after them. At an average of 2 years between children, the last one might have been born sometime around 1794. Since James Vickers married a second time in 1799, I have calculated her death to be between 1794 and 1799. I would imagine it was likely to be toward the latter end of that period, but all is speculation.
