    "R. W. Hill, Retired Farmer, Died at Allenville

    Robert William 'Bob' Hill, retired farmer of Moultrie county, died early today at the home of her [sic] daughter, Mrs. Claud Winchester of Allenville, with whom he had been living since the death of his wife five years ago. Mr. Hill suffered a stroke several years ago, and had been bedfast the past five years. Death was due to complications incident to his age. Hi was 88 years old. [Penned: "25 Nov 1943"]

    Funeral services were held at 2L30 o?clock Sunday afternoon at the Mitchell funeral home in Mattoon, with Rev. H. T. Harper officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove cemetery, Cooks Mills.

    Mr. Hill was born July 27, 1755, in Manitoba province, Canada, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hill. At the age of four, he moved with his family to Michigan, where the resided six years before moving to Topeka, Kansas. On March 28, 1878, he married Miss Annis Walker of Chesterville and returned with her to Kansas. In 1880 he and his wife made their permanent home in Moultrie county. Mr. Hill engaged in grain farming.

    Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Claud Winchester of Allenville, Miss Maud Hill of Mattoon, and two sons, Delmar Hill of Paris, and Everett Hill of Marne, Iowa."
