  Note	From John Porter McMeans, quoting his grandfather Jasper Newton Walker, regarding Jasper's grandfather, Joseph H. Walker: "In 1964 I had to do a genealogy project for school. I interviewed my gandfather Jasper Newton Walker, b. 1875 and grandson of Joseph H. Walker. Grandad told me that Joseph Walker came from Georgia. He also said his middle name was Harmon and that his mother was a Harmon. About 8 years ago I asked my Uncle Reeder Walker about the Harmon name. Reeder (now deceased) stated that 'legend' was that Joseph's mother was a Harmon or a Herman. There is a Herman family that married into the Walker's and they are buried in Harmon Cemetery. The legend is that Joseph is buried under a rock in Harmon Cemetery."
