  	Obituary of husband, Archie Eugene Fruits Archie Eugene Fruits, 77, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2005, at his home near Edwards, Mo. He was born Nov. 26, 1927, in Danville, Ill., to Ira Benton and Ruby Vernadine Reeder Fruits. On Aug. 28, 1945, he married Ellen Yvonne Houck in Coldwater. He was then inducted into the U.S. Army, serving in the occupation forces in Germany as a veteran of World War II. Following his discharge he returned to Kansas, where they made their home in various locations. Mr. Fruits began working as a cowboy, working cattle and livestock from the back of a horse while living near Coldwater. He later worked as an auto mechanic restoring antique automobiles. For the next 15 years or so he was an owner/operator of his own truck, hauling freight over the road from coast to coast, and then returned to their farm home near Willow Springs. They moved to their retirement home near Edwards about four years ago. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Ann McCart of Garden City, and Nancy Ellen Clardy of Edwards; two sons, Marvin Eugene Fruits of Sibley, Mo., and Archie Dow Fruits of Edwards; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Fruits of Big Sandy, Tenn.; and a sister, Idamae Schanuel of Bellville, Ill.
