Obituary of Alberta's husband, GLENN DALTON O?DELL

MT. VERNON ? Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Collins Cemetery in Lockwood for Glenn O?Dell, 90, Mt. Vernon, who died at 11:45 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at the Missouri Veteran?s Home in Mt. Vernon, following a long illness. Military honors will be conducted, with Chaplain Michael Kanai officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

Survivors include his children, Glenn L. O?Dell and wife Mary, Williamston, S.C., Randy O?Dell and wife Becky, Ava, Renee Burton and husband Brad, Ash Grove, and Greg O?Dell and wife Lana, Nevada; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Wray; three sisters, Delma, Mattie and Lara, and a granddaughter, Ashli O?Dell.
Mr. O?Dell was born near Mena, Ark., to Lorn P. and Pinkie P. (Lindsey) O?Dell. He had lived most of his life in and around the Lockwood and Golden City area until July of 2006, when he moved to Ava. He served his country for three years in World War II as a U.S. Navy Seabee 3rd class carpenter?s mate. He was a member of the 84th Battalion, Company A. Prior to his service he had worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad, the California shipyards - Todd Cal. Corporation. After leaving the service he had been a dairy farmer, the owner of Dudenville grocery store, and eventually opened up his own welding shop where he welded equipment for local farmers.
He was a member of the Reeds Baptist Church.
He married Alberta Lee Lasater on June 3, 1947. She preceded him in death.
