Birth parents unknown. Adopted by Augustine Washington Walker, b 1828 GA, probably a relative, possibly an uncle. Augustus's father was Malcolm J. Walker, born 1795. Oral history says that HSW1 (b 1862) may have been the son of a William Walker, Confederate, killed during the war when struck by lightning.
