      Deceased Name: Billy O. Walker 1926 - 2009
      Billy O. Walker 82, passed away at his home in Sacramento, CA, on Saturday, May 30, 2009, following a long and courageous battle with diabetes and heart complications. Bill was born September 8, 1926 in the Town of Nowata, OK, to the late Pat Alonzo Walker and Marie Lozier. He attended Ripley, OK, Grade School and High School. Bill served in the U.S. Navy, during WWII and was stationed at San Diego, CA; USS ATA-184. He was Ship's Cook, third class V-6 USNR. On September 30, 1947, he was united in marriage to June Mattox in Fairfield, CA. In 1947, Bill began his working career in the Oil Fields. As his experience and skills increased he began a welding career. He was a member of Union Local 460, Plumbers & Steam Fitters. Bill's hard work, work ethics and skills gained him a reputation as the "man who can design, engineer, and build just about anything mechanical." His pinnacle of success was AG Fab, his company which specialized in designing, engineering and building farming equipment. Bill and June moved to Sacramento in 2006 from Bakersfield, CA to be near their son and family and became members of the Hillsdale Blvd Baptist Church. In Bakersfield, he was a dedicated charter member of Valley Baptist Church where he faithfully served his Church and Community for over fifty years. He was a member of the Valley Voyagers and was a dedicated member of VFW, post 10859.
      Bill is survived by his wife, friend and loving companion, June of the home; his son, Stan and wife Zulinka; four grandchildren, Stephen Walker, Tisa Kassler, Shannon Terrel and Justin Walker; one great-grandson, Michel Walker; three great-granddaughters, Brookland, Sydney and Adriana; his brothers, Gus Allen Walker and wife Dixie of Hugo, OK, Harold Wayne Walker and wife Maxine of Katy, TX; his sisters, Patsy Wanda Himes and husband Paul of Grant, OK and Peggy Sue Scruggs of Bristow, OK; his brothers, James Lozier and wife Della of Austin, TX, Bob Lozier and wife Nadine of Yale, OK, Guy Lozier and wife Tanya of Tulsa, OK, Ernest Lozier of Austin, TX. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Bill was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Ray Walker and Ocie Olia Walker; and one sister, Gloria Ann (Walker) Bookout. Funeral services for Bill will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd., Bakersfield, CA. The Rev. Roger Spradlin will officiate. Family will receive relatives and friends at the Hillcrest Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Following the funeral services the Valley Voyagers and Sunday School Class will sponsor a potluck reception at the Valley Baptist Church, 4800 Fruitvale Avenue, Bakersfield, CA. Flowers are to be delivered to Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary. We would like to thank all relatives and friends for their generous help and support. Billy O.
