Name |
Jolley George "Joe" Wood [1] |
- Later in life he appeared to use Joseph George Wood as his name instead of Jolley George Wood.
My mother in law (his younger sister) always named him as Jolley George, however.

"Baby Run Over By Auto and Killed
Child of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Woods [sic], of near Macedonia.
Special to The Daily Nonpareil.
MACEDONIA, Ia., Sept. 28.-- The funeral serivces [sic] will be held at Minden today of 22-months-old Baby Woods, who was run over and killed by an automobile driven by his uncle at the Joe Woods home four and a half miles west of Macedonia Saturday.
The accident happened when Otis Woods [sic], about 19 years old, brother of Joe Woods [sic], father of the child, was backing a car through the barn-yard. The child had wandered from the house, unknown to the uncle. The machine passed over the little boy, crushing his side. He lived but a few hours. The entire family is stricken with grief as a result of the accident.
The Woods [sic] family live on what is known as the John Rainbow farm, opposite Lone Star Christian church. Mrs. Woods [sic] is a neice [sic] of Henry Brandeis, former state representative from this county." |
