  	The Springfield News Leader: "Ruby Opal Sargent Ruby Opal Sargent, daughter of Eli Harrison and Martha (Daniels) Wood, was born Oct. 8, 1911, in Lebanon, Mo., and departed this life Jan. 20, 2001, in Ash Grove Health Care Facility in Ash Grove, Mo. at the age of 89 years, three months and 12 days of age. On Nov. 9, 1935, she was united in marriage to M. F. (Bud) Sargent and to this union two daughters were born. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Niangua. Ruby enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her flowers, visiting with her neighbors and going to church until her health no longer permitted her to do so. Family was very important to Ruby. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud on May 9, 1997; her parents; one brother, Walter wood; and three sisters, Virtress Hammer, Nellie Gordon and Myrtle Kneedler. Ruby is survived by two daughters, Shirley Stevens and husband Don, Coal City, Ill., and Jeri Dinwiddie and husband Mike, Buckner, Mo.' five grandchildren, Jim Stevens, Ash Grove, Mo., Tasha Odom, Morris, Ill., Dena Dinwiddie, Phoenix, Ariz., and Tod Dinwiddie, Buckner, Mo.' 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Ruby will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services for Ruby Opal Sargent will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Day Funeral Home, Marshfield, Mo., with the Rev. Stephen Hubbell and Rev. Jack Day officiating. Burial will be in Niangua Cemetery, Niangua, Mo. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at Day Funeral Home for the First Baptist Church of Niangua."
