  RESEARCH	Nothing further is known of Catherine (Campbel) Hodges. Her birth date is recorded in the James Boyd Campbell Bible--as is the birthdate of John Hodges. However, John Hodges' death date is also recorded, but the death date of Catherine is not. It seems likely that Catherine lived longer than John. She is not, however, found: in the 1880 census in 1883-1893 birth and death records (Shannon Co appears to be missing from these records) in a FindAGrave listing in Missouri as "Catherine Hodges" in Missouri marriages as "Catherine Hodges" Additionally, an Ancestry search for the couple John Hodges and Catherine Campbell finds their listing with other Campbells, but no death date for either of them, and no child listings. It seems likely that Catherine may have died soon after John, or moved to another state. They probably did not have children (none in 1870, 3 years after their marriage) and they might have left more records if they had had children.

Since he cites Catherine's birth as 29 May 1842, and the 1850 census (Texas Co MO) and the 1860 census (Dent Co MO) show Catherine Campbell in the home of her father Boyd Campbell; and since Dent County, Missouri, marriage records list the marriage of a Catherine Campbell to John Hodges in 1867, it is clear that Catherine Campbell, the daughter of Boyd Campbell was also Catherine Hodges, the wife of John Hodges.
