  • Notes
    • Thomas appears in only one document to date: the 1861 Dundee census home of William Donald. Diligent searching has failed to discover a marriage, death, or subsequent census for Thomas.

At the same time, James Donald, born in 1844, would have been sixteen or seventeen in 1861, and he has not been located in this census.

"Thomas" is an unlikely alternate for "James," but it does seem possible that the census enumerator simply heard and recorded the name wrong.

In the meantime, I have retained Thomas in the numbered genealogy, as a placeholder.
