Ballou] and "Ellie Ballou" [probably Ettie (Matteson) Ballou]. His 1919 marriage application in Jefferson Co IN names his parents as "Charles F. Ballou" (probably a misunderstanding of Jules or Julius) and "Ettie M. Mattson."  [4, 5]
