Bizarre article indicating that George and Inez Stillman ahad a "badly deformed lad" named Burdette, whom they paraded around town to panhandle from the sympathetic. The nature of the deformity is not specified but the article states that a doctor offered to heal the child and was turned down and the family moved houses immediately thereafter,
This could only be the right family: George Stillman, with wife Inez, and son Burdette, the right age. Also, a George D. Stillman is found in the 1893 Indianapolis directory, as an insurance agent, |
