Pearl lost both her husband Hiram and her son Raymond, both drowned while fishing on the Willamette River near Portland, on 7 May 1955; ?their small boat was swamped by the backwash from propellers of the huge river tug. . . .? Their bodies were recovered by a dragging operation. |
