    Thursday services
    Jefferson -- Services for Monroe Dee Devore, 63, of Jefferson, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sullivan Funeral Home, Travis Street Chapel in Marshall with the Rev. Darwin Horseback officiating.
    Burial will follow in Algoma Cemetery-South in Marshall.
    Born April 25 1926, in Center Point, Mr. DeVore was the retired owner-operator of Tex-Pac Express in Marshall. Previously he was a professional truck driver. He was educated in Center Point schools and attended Stephen F. Austin State University. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Baptist faith. He married Alma V. Davis July 10, 1947, in Jackson ville. She survives.
    Other survivors include his mother, Elsie Witt Devore of Center Point; two sons, Max Dale Devore of Scottsville and Edwin Eard Devore of Marshall; two brothers, Car E. Devore of Cherokee and William Devore of Gainesville; high sisters, Eleanor Baker and Betty Acker, both of Center Point and JoAnne Cagle of Hondo, Nancy Faulkner of Cedar Park, Irene Gardner of Loveland, Elsie B. Kott of Fredericksburg, Fay Baker of Angleton and Donnie Sue Johnson of Medina; four grandchildren; Marty Devore and Amy Devore, both of Scottsville and Jeremy Devore and Christie Devore of Marshall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Sullivan Funeral Home in Marshall is in charge of arrangements."
