  	Modesto Bee: "NOV 23, 1938 -- MAY 2, 2009 Originally from Pulaski, Tenn. and known as "Charlie'' to those that knew him, Charles devoted his life to family and the quality of the homes he built. He was known for his honesty, sincerity and hard work. Charlies' parents, Joe & Lois along with brothers Joe Dean, Edward and sister Ann, moved to Modesto in 1944. After graduating from Downey High in 1957, Charlie, along with his brothers, followed in their father's footsteps and began building custom homes in Modesto. In March of 1971, Charlie married the love of his life, Ines Quinones. His devotion and respect for his wife was noticeable by all. Charlie had a genuine knack for making people laugh and smile whether he intended to or not. Soft spoken and heartfelt, Charlie was always sincere in every aspect of his life. Family events weren't complete without his presence. Charlie was surrounded by family as he passed away peacefully on May 2. He is survived by and will continually be loved and missed by his beloved wife Ines, brothers Joe Dean and Edward, daughters Tami Robertson, Karen Wolters and son David Tidwell along with his grandchildren: Jordan & Steve Robertson, Joey & Elizabeth Wolters & Alyson Tidwell. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lois Tidwell and son Jeffrey. A viewing and Rosary will be held on Thursday, May 7th from 4-8pm at Lakewood Memorial Park with funeral services Friday, May 8th at 9:30am at St. Josephs Catholic Church: 1813 Oakdale Rd.
